Partick Thistle boss Mark Wilson has been named as the Glen’s Championship Manager of the Month for November.

The former Celtic and Dundee United defender took over at Firhill in the summer and has since led the Jags to joint top of the second tier.

Thistle are on the same amount of points as league leaders St Johnstone, with only goal difference separating the sides.

They took ten points from a possible 12 last month, with three wins and a draw from their four league games.

St Johnstone were one of the teams defeated, along with Queen’s Park and Dunfermline, with Airdrie being the only team they failed to beat after the game finished 1-1.

After being announced as the winner on Thursday, Wilson said: “I was delighted to pick up my first Glen’s Championship Manager of the Month Award last month and for a second one to arrive so quickly is fantastic.

“As I said last month, the award is in my name but it is a reflection on everyone at the club, especially the players who carry the burden and deserve the praise as much as anyone.

“Along with my assistant Alex Rae we have worked hard at building a strong team spirit amongst the players and with everyone who supports them. I would like to thank everybody for the way they have come together over the recent months.”
