Nicolas Raskin will return to the Rangers squad for their game against Hibernian this weekend.

The Belgian international hasn’t been included in any of their last two games, but Russell Martin revealed on Friday that he is in contention for the game at Ibrox on Saturday.

Speaking to the media ahead of the game against Hibs, Martin said: “Nico has trained all week, he’s in a good place and is back in the squad for the weekend.”

Rangers host David Gray’s men in the League Cup quarter-final as they look to put their poor Premiership start behind them and book a place at Hampden for the semis.

Pressure continues to grow on the head coach, who has won just three of his 12 games in charge.

Four draws and a defeat from their first five league games has left them tenth in the table and already trailing Celtic and Hearts by nine points.

Despite a large section of the support being vocally against him, Martin still believes they can turn their season around as they look to take a step towards claiming the first trophy of the season.

He said: “Very rarely do you arrive at a club when there is not a problem.

“At every club we have been at, there are tough moments, but the potential is huge for the group if we work through the difficult moments together.

“We have the chance to be in the semi-final, and a step forward towards silverware.

“I want to see a team that plays with the togetherness and intensity I see at training.”
