Nicky Devlin is looking for Aberdeen to increase their attacking threat after becoming more dependable in defence.
The 32-year-old defender, playing in a back three, scored the only goal of the game in Sunday’s narrow 1-0 win over former club Livingston to move the Granite City outfit up to seventh place in the William Hill Premiership.
Jimmy Thelin’s side – who are unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions – have enjoyed five clean sheets in seven domestic games.
However, the Dons have scored only 10 goals in 13 league fixtures, with only St Mirren, on nine, more shot-shy in the table.
Ahead of the home game against the Buddies on Wednesday, Devlin told Red TV: “It’s been really good.
“It’s probably taken a wee bit away from us going forward at times just now.
“We are trying to build on that and get better in that every day because we have kept a lot of clean sheets recently, but maybe lacked a wee bit more going forward.
“We have obviously a player fewer in the kind of forward areas so it’s something we’re working hard on all the time.
“We know that we’re able to keep clean sheets now. Defensively, we’ve been really good, but can we just add that wee bit more going forward and create problems for the opposition because at times, we’ve maybe not created (so much).
“Their goalkeeper on Sunday has not had to make too many saves. I think we can get better than that.
“Obviously, we’re not able to train too often just now with the amount of games, but the more we keep working at that, we’ll hopefully get better.”
