Kilmarnock boss Neil McCann believes making at least one more signing in this transfer window could act as a “circuit breaker” for his ailing side.
Former Aberdeen goalkeeper Kelle Roos has joined for the rest of the season from Notts County, while Killie have been linked with another loan swoop for teenage Rangers forward Findlay Curtis.
McCann is hopeful of another recruitment before Monday to lift the dressing room of a side that are languishing in 11th in the William Hill Premiership and are winless since October 4 – a run of 17 matches.
“I’m pretty positive we’ll have one or two in,” McCann said ahead Saturday’s visit of Aberdeen.
“It’s not that I need them – I would like them because I think the dressing room would benefit from a wee boost of somebody fresh coming in, just a different personality coming in and a circuit breaker.
“It’s not easy and we know how difficult it is here at Kilmarnock to get players over because of the position we’re in and the form we’ve been in.
“The club are working really hard to get something done.”
Kilmarnock are bidding to bounce back from being thrashed 4-0 at Motherwell last weekend, when Tom Lowery was sent off, with the midfielder set to be absent against the Dons.
Jamie Brandon and Max Stryjek are back in training but neither will be risked, while Djenairo Daniels, Kyle Magennis and Matthew Kennedy will also be absent at the BBSP Stadium Rugby Park.
“Max is crazy, he’s wanting to get involved very quickly but we’ve just got to be careful with him,” McCann said.
“Jamie’s back (in training) and looked excellent but this game comes too soon for him.”
