Nedim Bajrami will let bygones be bygones after returning to the fold at Rangers under Danny Rohl.

The Albania international was so far out of the picture under former boss Russell Martin that he was left out of the Europa League squad, with most of his appearances this season coming off the bench.

However, Rohl offered his squad a clean slate when he took over from Martin in October, and Bajrami started in the goalless home draw against Falkirk on Sunday and against Dundee United at Tannadice on Wednesday night where his last-gasp penalty secured a 2-2 draw for the Light Blues.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder, who joined Rangers from Italian club Sassuolo in 2024, said: “The past is the past, I’m back in the squad and happy to help the team with my performance.

“I spoke with him (Rohl) in the beginning when he came in we had a chat.

“I was away with the national team. I think I played well against England, came back and got my chance.

“Happy to be back, and this is football. Three months ago I was away. Now I’m back.

“I was always focused on Rangers and this is football sometimes, you need to be mentally strong. I was, I think, strong enough to handle this situation.

“Obviously, when you train the whole week and then you are not in the squad, it was not really nice for me, but I always trained good.

“I give my best for this club. And I’m happy to be back and to help the team.”

Gers fans vented their frustrations at the full-time whistle, despite the late leveller.

United striker Zac Sapsford opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a fine solo goal but Gers left-back Jayden Meghoma equalised in the 23rd minute with a long-range strike.

Amar Fatah restored United’s lead in the 66th minute but in the final seconds of the game – six minutes had been added – Gers substitute Max Aarons was brought down in the box by Will Ferry and Bajrami confidently fired the resultant penalty high into the net.

Rangers are unbeaten in six William Hill Premiership games under Rohl and remain in fourth place, nine points behind Hearts and Celtic.

Ahead of the trip to Kilmarnock on Saturday night, Bajrami acknowledged the tension and the anger in sections of the Rangers support.

He said: “Obviously they’re used to winning every game and we know what we have to do.

“We know our job and we are working on this so Saturday is the next game, we need to improve.

“Obviously, we have a lot of new players but I think they have a lot of experience and they can handle this pressure.

“I think six (league) games unbeaten now. We had a lot of chances. We created more chances than the last game.

“We need to stick together, we have a lot of games now and we need to look forward.”
