Motherwell have completed the signing of Callum Hendry after paying MK Dons an undisclosed fee for the striker.
Hendry returns to Scottish football after three years in England, having played with Salford City for two seasons after leaving St Johnstone, before moving to Milton Keynes.
The 27-year-old forward will now add to manager Jens Berthel Askou’s options up front.
Hendry, the son of former Scotland defender Colin Hendry, made his name with St Johnstone, scorting 22 times in 94 games for the Saints, and also spent time at Aberdeen, Brechin City and Kilmarnock on loan during his previous spell in Scotland.
Motherwell hope he can bring that experience to Fir Park and help them with their ambitions.
“We are delighted to welcome Callum to Motherwell FC,” Askou said.
“His energy, intelligence in finding space, and strong finishing qualities will bring real value and competition to our squad.
“Callum arrives with a wealth of experience from both the EFL and the Scottish Premiership. His positive character and professionalism make him an excellent fit for our culture.
“He joins us with great hunger and desire to make his mark, and we are excited to see him help drive the team forward. We look forward to getting him on the pitch and watching him contribute to our continued growth as a club.”
Hendry said the move had been under discussion for some time and he’s now keen to get started.
“It’s great to be back in Scotland,” he said.
“This move has been in the offing for a while, and I’ve been really keen to get signed so I can focus on playing football. I know some of the guys in the dressing room, and everyone seems like really nice people around the place.
“I can now get a good week of work under my belt before Saturday’s game.”
