Falkirk manager John McGlynn admitted some Scottish Cup fixture “concern” after being drawn against Hearts at Tynecastle.
The Bairns discovered on Sunday night that they will travel to Gorgie in the fourth round on the weekend of Saturday, January 17, following a home Premiership game against Celtic the previous Wednesday.
Looking ahead to a big cup tie in the new year, former Jambos boss McGlynn said: “It doesn’t worry me so much. What does concern me is the fact we’ve got Celtic on the Wednesday night before it.
“So there’s two big games. We could have done without Celtic and then playing Hearts, two teams at the top of the league right now.
“Tynecastle, a good place to go. We kind of got Hearts at their absolute best (lost 3-0 in September) and we came off a game against Hibs (2-2), so we’re going to be in the same kind of situation to some extent, playing Celtic.
“Playing Celtic is a hard game for us, you use up a lot of energy in these games.
“So, again, we’ll have to balance the squad a little bit but we will be ready as best we can when it comes around.”
McGlynn revealed positive news on the injury front with defender Coll Donaldson and midfielder Aidan Nesbitt back in training.
Donaldson has not featured this season due to an abdomen problem which required surgery while Nesbitt has been sidelined since August with a foot problem.
McGlynn said: “Coll Donaldson and Aidan Nesbitt went back into the full training with the players who trained.
“So that’s a positive. They’re not ready to be selected for the first team.
“But it’s a positive that they’re actually back, training with the first team.
“They have gone through all the sort of rehab that they’ve had to do and it’ll not be long before they are available for selection.”
Keelan Adams is unlikely to be fit for the game against Motherwell on Wednesday night after picking up a groin injury against Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday but Filip Lissah, who came off with cramp, should make it.
