Hibernian and Glasgow City are preparing for the second legs of their Women’s Europa Cup qualifiers.

The SWPL sides will be in action on Wednesday, following contrasting results in their respective first legs last week.

Glasgow City take a 3-0 lead over to Ireland for their game against Athlone Town as they look to take another step towards the inaugural tournament.

Meanwhile, Scottish champions Hibs face an uphill task in Edinburgh as they look to overturn a 4-1 defeat to Serie A side Inter Milan.

Goals from Amy Anderson, Linda Motlhalo, and Lisa Forrest put City in a commanding position in the tie with a victory at Petershill.

They will now be looking to finish the job and book their place in the second qualifying round.

Eilidh Adams scored a consolation as Hibs lost heavily in Milan last week, and they will be needing a miracle to turn that deficit around in front of their home fans.

The teams that get through these ties will face another two-legged qualifying round in October to reach the last 16 of Europe’s second tier competition.

Unlike the men’s version, the Europa Cup has no league phase and will instead consist of straight knockout ties up to and including the final, which will be held in the last week of August and the first week of May.

Hibs were eliminated from the Champions League after losing to Danish side Fortuna Hjorring in the qualifying rounds, while City were defeated by Austria Wien at the same stage.
