David Gray insists his Hibernian side has to be more clinical in front of goal despite a 2-1 win over Aberdeen at the weekend.
The Easter Road side are third in the Premiership following their victory at Pittodrie on Sunday.
Goals from Thibault Klidje and Elle Youan gave the visitors a two-goal lead before an injury-time strike from Marko Lazetic brought a nervy end to the game.
While Gray was happy with the all-round performance, he said Hibs, who also had a goal chalked off, should have been out of sight.
Speaking after the game, he said: “It was quite a strange game towards the end, because you’re thinking with a couple of minutes left that it’s 3-0 and it’s comfortable, then it’s not a goal, then you lose a goal, and the last 30 seconds are defending.
“Over the course of it, the challenge was to get back-to-back wins after a bit of a reset with the international break, and I thought the players were fantastic today – we deserved to win.
“Within that, though, there were big moments within the game. Aberdeen had perhaps the best chance of the game early in the first half, but they didn’t take it, and then we took our first big chance.
“I think if we were a bit more clinical, it might have been an easier afternoon.
“As an away performance and a collective team performance, I think it was a very good one.”
Hibs host Rangers on Wednesday night before travelling to Livingston three days later. If they take all six points, they could leapfrog Celtic into second place.
The defending champions, who host Falkirk midweek, are currently three points ahead of Hibs, but don’t play in the league next weekend due to the League Cup semi-finals.
