Daniel Oyegoke has left Hearts to join Hellas Verona on a permanent transfer.
The defender has joined the Serie A side for an undisclosed fee, it was announced on Tuesday.
Oyegoke was absent from Hearts’ matchday squad against Killie on Saturday and Critchley revealed afterwards that he was set for an exit.
The 22-year-old English defender joined the Jambos on a three-year deal from Brentford last summer and went on to make 26 appearances, scoring once – a memorable long-range screamer against St Mirren at Tynecastle.
Head coach Neil Critchley said; “Daniel has shown improvement in the short period of time since his arrival at Hearts.
“I’ve enjoyed working with Dan over this short period, and we wish him well at his new club.
“It’s a good move for him, it’s a good deal for the club, and it makes sense for all parties involved.
“It opens up opportunities for other players to step forward as we enter an exciting second half of the season.”
