Scotland fly-half Finn Russell has been banned for three weeks after his red card in the Six Nations victory over France.
Russell was sent off for leading with a forearm into the neck area of Brice Dulin – in the 70th minute of the 27-23 win which saw the Scots finish second in the championship.
The suspension was reduced by half as the disciplinary committee identified no aggravating features and gave credit for Russell’s prompt acceptance that his actions had constituted foul play, his disciplinary record, his attitude before and during the hearing and his clear remorse.
Russell will miss three club matches for French side Racing 92, including Sunday’s visit of Edinburgh in the Champions Cup.
