Dundee United have announced the signing of goalkeeper Mark Birighitti from Central Coast Mariners.
The 31-year-old has signed a two-year contract to join Jack Ross’ side and is a direct replacement for Benjamin Siegrist, who moved to Celtic after leaving Tannadice at the end of last season.
Birighitti, who was capped by Australia in 2013, has a wealth of experience, having played for Swansea and NAC Breda as well as A-League sides.
He told the club’s official website: “It’s a long way from home, but I’ve played in Europe before in England and in the Netherlands and I was always keen to get back here.
“There’s no better place to do it than Dundee United and I’m really looking forward to the season ahead.
“When I heard United were interested it was a no-brainer. I said yes straight away.”
The goalkeeper is Ross’ fourth summer signing, following the addition of Craig Sibbald, Dylan Levitt and Steven Fletcher earlier in the window.
