Dundee United should be 'embarrassed' by bids for Brad Spencer, says McGlynn

Falkirk have rejected three bids from Dundee United for Brad Spencer

Dundee United should be ’embarrassed’ by bids for Brad Spencer, claims Falkirk boss John McGlynn SNS Group

John McGlynn claims Dundee United should be “embarrassed” by the level of offers made for Falkirk midfielder Brad Spencer.

The Bairns boss revealed three bids for the 30-year-old from the Tannadice club have been rejected by the Falkirk board and he is right behind the decision.

McGlynn said: “We have continuously told them for some time now that Brad’s not for sale, he’s part of Falkirk Football Club.

“I signed Brad for Raith Rovers when he was in part-time football at Forfar a good few years ago, we have worked together more or less ever since, barring one year. We’ve rejected these offers.

“I’m a players’ man, but obviously I work for the football club and the board will make these decisions.

“And you wouldn’t want your best player going to one of your direct opponents while they’re under contract and Brad’s got at least another couple of years on his contract, so they are kidding themselves on basically.

“I don’t think it would matter (if Dundee United came back), they are miles off, embarrassing.

“I know the guy who wrote them and he must have been embarrassed when he was writing these offers, he must have been embarrassed.

“From a football point of view we’re saying that Brad will be here, he’s under contract, unless the board accept it and they are not going to accept their offer.”
