Dundee United’s match against The Spartans has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
The club said the decision to postpone the fifth-round tie in the Scottish Cup had been made in the interests of player safety.
Efforts had been made throughout the week to ensure the pitch remained in a playable condition, including covering the entire surface from Wednesday until Saturday morning.
“Torrential rainfall witnessed across the North East throughout the past week and forecast for the remainder of the day has made it unlikely that an area of cornern will improve ahead of kick-off”, Dundee United said in a statement.
“We apologise to both sets of supporters for any inconvenience caused.”
The rearranged fixture will now take place on Tuesday, February 17, with a 7.45pm kick-off.
