Dundee stormed into the quarter-finals of the League Cup with an emphatic 6-1 win over 10-man Airdrie at Dens Park.
The Dark Blues netted twice before the break through Seb Palmer-Houlden and Jordan McGhee before adding four more goal in the second half from Scott Tiffoney, Antonio Portales, Curtis Main and Lyall Cameron.
Adam Frizzell pulled one back for the Diamonds who had Dylan MacDonald sent off just after the hour.
Dundee took the lead in the 12th minute when a Luke McCowan corner from the left was flicked on twice with the ball eventually falling for Palmer-Houlden who rifled home from close range.
Dundee doubled their advantage in the 40th minute. Cameron swung a corner in from the right with McGhee sending a looping header towards goal and although Airdrie goalkeeper Kieran Wright managed to get a hand to it, he could not keep the ball out of the net.
The home side netted their third goal of the afternoon on the hour mark. McCowan hit a superb pass from inside his own half towards Tiffoney racing through on goal and he made no mistake, blasting a shot past the helpless Wright to make it three and easy for the hosts.
A bad day for the Diamonds became worse soon after when MacDonald was shown a straight red card for bringing down Murray just outside the box. McCowan took the resultant free-kick and smashed an effort off the foot of the post.
Dundee made it 4-0 in the 74th minute when Portales powered home a header from a Cameron corner and then just two minutes later, Airdrie scored a consolation goal with a fine finish by Frizzell.
Home substitute Main got in on the act in the 86th minute with a backheel flick past Wright before Cameron put the icing on the cake in stoppage time, nodding home from close range.
