Debuts for Souttar, Colak and Lawrence as Livi host Rangers in Premiership opener SNS Group

Rangers have named three debutants in their starting line-up for the Premiership opener in Livingston on Saturday.

Scotland defender John Souttar starts in a back four beside Connor Goldson with captain James Tavernier at right back and Borna Barisic at left back.

Tom Lawrence will spearhead a midfield three with John Lundstram and Glen Kamara as Antonio Colak starts up front with Ryan Kent and Scott Wright on the wings.

Jon McGlaughlin starts in goals ahead of veteran Allan McGregor.

Meanwhile David Martindale has handed a debut to new goalkeeper Shamal George who is playing behind Ayo Obileye, Jack Fitzwater, Nicky Devlin, Phillip Cancar, Stephane Omeonga, Sean Kelly, Jason Holt, Andrew Shinnie, Scott Pittman and Joel Nouble.

The 12pm kick off is the opening game of the Scottish Premiership season 2022/23 with another three games taking place at 3pm.

St Mirren play Motherwell on Sunday before champions Celtic begin the defence of their title at home to Aberdeen.

Rangers play their first Champions League qualifier against Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise on Tuesday night.
