Dan Neil says winning silverware is a “big reason” as to why he came to Rangers.
The former Sunderland man wants to lift a trophy with the Ibrox side after making the move north in the summer.
Neil has become a key member of Derek McInnes’ side, deputising for captain Lawrence Shankland, who has been out since early September with a hamstring injury.
The 24-year-old won the EFL Trophy with Sunderland, but wants to add more silverware to his arsenal as Rangers take on Aberdeen at Hampden on Saturday in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final.
He said: “Any time you’ve got a chance of getting your hands on silverware, it’s a chance you have to take.
“Talking about not many medals in the changing room, but every single person with a medal didn’t have one at some point.
“It is a big reason why I came up. To have any chance of that, you have to win the game on Saturday.”
Rangers or Aberdeen will face Hearts or Hibs in the final on December 13 at Hampden.
The two Edinburgh sides face off on Sunday.
