Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United with immediate effect, the club has announced.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Old Trafford side thanked him for his “immense contribution” over two spells.
It comes after the 37-year-old criticised the club during an interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV.
The forward joined Manchester United last year on a two-year-deal, having previously played for the club from 2003 until 2009.
Ronaldo has also starred for Sporting CP, Real Madrid and Juventus in a glittering career.
Over the last two decades, he has made 191 appearances for Portugal, scoring 117 goals.
