Craig McLeish is to be announced as St Mirren’s permanent boss after he led the club to survival, STV Sport understands.
The interim manager is expected to sign a three-year deal with the Buddies.
The 36-year-old was given the reins on a temporary basis after his predecessor, Stephen Robinson, left for the Aberdeen job in March.
McLeish was thrown into the deep end as the Paisley side battled to secure their top flight survival.
Following a tense 1-1 draw with Partick Thistle in the first of the play-off, St Mirren solidified their Premiership status with a win at home.
The new manager will now be looking ahead to the Premier Sports Cup group stage games against Dumbarton, Cove Rangers, East Kilbride and Dunfermline Athletic.
