Hearts moved seven points clear at the top of the William Hill Scottish Premiership with a 1-0 home victory over Aberdeen.

Claudio Braga struck the solitary goal at Tynecastle Park after 28 minutes following good work from Pierre Landry Kabore.

Hearts should have enjoyed a greater margin of victory but Tomas Magnusson, Blair Spittal, Kabore and Braga were all unable to convert good chances.

Victory for Hearts puts pressure on nearest challengers Rangers and Celtic, who meet on Sunday.

Aberdeen – who had former manager Sir Alex Ferguson watching on in the stands – are closer to a bottom-six finish after failing to end their dismal record of not having scored away from home in 2026.

Motherwell moved a point behind third-placed Celtic with a comfortable 2-0 win at home to Dundee United.

Tawanda Maswanhise scored either side of the interval as Motherwell extended their unbeaten league run to 11 games.

The breakthrough came from Vicko Sevelj conceding a penalty for an off-the-ball altercation with Maswanhise.

Dundee and Hibernian shared a six-goal thriller as their Dens Park clash ended in a 3-3 draw.

Cam Congreve struck a fantastic equaliser for Dundee in the fifth minute of stoppage time after Hibernian had taken the lead through Owen Elding.

Dundee led 2-1 through Simon Murray and Luke Graham, but Hibernian looked on the way to three points after Ante Suto and Jamie McGrath scored in the final 10 minutes.

Falkirk all-but secured a top-six berth by thrashing relegation-threatened Kilmarnock 5-1, who remain firmly in relegation danger.

An Ethan Brown own goal got the ball rolling before Dylan Tait and Barney Stewart bagged braces, while Killie’s consolation came from Greg Kiltie.

Brooklyn Kabongolo scored for the second game running as bottom-placed Livingston drew 1-1 at home to St Mirren, who had led through Dan Nlundulu’s powerful header on the stroke of half-time.
