Celtic’s Ange Postecoglou named Manager of the Month after perfect start to Premiership season Loch Lomond Group

Ange Postecoglou has been named as the Scottish Premiership Manager of the Month for August after a perfect start to the season with six wins in six.

After beating Aberdeen 2-0 at the end of July, August brought back to back wins for Celtic against Ross County and Kilmarnock, before beating Hearts 2-0 in Glasgow and a record 9-0 victory over Dundee United at Tannadice.

The Hoops also finished August with a League Cup win over Ross County on Wednesday night.

In their opening five league fixtures they have scored 21 goals and only conceded one.

Next up they host Rangers in the first Old Firm game of the season before European Champions Real Madrid visit Parkhead in Champions League action.

Postecoglou picked up five of the Glen’s sponsored awards last season, including four in a row between January and April, before also being named Manager of the Year in May.

And he has started this season as he finished the last.

He said: “It is pleasing to receive this award again, which as ever is received by us all as a wider team, and recognises the collective efforts of the players and my backroom team.

“We have worked hard in the early part of the season, delivering some excellent performances and really positive results, but we know we will need to maintain these really high levels in order to achieve what we want to.

“I would also like to thank our fans who, as ever, have been magnificent once again all month in supporting us.”
