Celtic face having no traveling fans at the away leg of their Champions League playoff tie against Bayern Munich over repeated use of pyrotechnics.

The Hoops were sanctioned after supporters used the devices at their game in Dortmund earlier in the campaign.

UEFA fined the club £17,000 for the incident and handed them a suspended ban on selling away tickets that would come into force if the incident occurred again at any game in the following two years.

Celtic revealed on Friday that they have now received a further disciplinary notice from the governing body following their match against Aston Villa FC on Wednesday.

In a statement, the club said: “We will obviously make robust representations to UEFA and will make every effort to ensure that our fans can attend our next Champions League match.

“However, clearly, there is a risk that supporters may not be able to attend.

“In light of this situation, it is incumbent on the club to make supporters aware of this risk, when considering making arrangements for travel, until further information is provided by UEFA.”
