Celtic v Rangers team news: Wilfried Nancy and Danny Rohl name sides for first Old Firm game of 2026SNS Group

Wilfried Nancy and Danny Rohl have named their Celtic and Rangers sides for the first Old Firm derby of the season.

The teams meet at Celtic Park hoping for a positive start to the year and three vital points in what is turning out to be one of the tightest Premiership title races in years.

Celtic trail leaders Hearts by three points, with Rangers another three points back in third place.

Both of the Glasgow giants have changed manager this season after troubled starts, but while Rohl has won eight and drawn two of his league games with Rangers, new Celtic boss Nancy is under serious pressure early in his time in charge after losing five out of seven games.

The Frenchman insists everyone at Celtic is behind him and that he just needs time to turn results around but defeat on Saturday would see more questions about his long-term future.

For Rohl, the match will be a second derby after losing 3-1 in extra time to Martin O’Neill’s Celtic side in the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals.

Nancy has started with Kasper Schmeichel in goal behind a back three of Anthony Ralston, Auston Trusty and Kieran Tierney. New signing Julian Araujo is among the substitutes.

Yang, Callum McGregor, Arne Engels and Luke McCowan look to be in a midfield four, with Daizen Maeda, Johnny Kenny and Benjamin Nygren in attack.

Rangers start with Jack Butland in goal and a back line of Jayden Meghoma, Emmanuel Fernandez, John Souttar and Dujon Sterling. Captain James Tavernier is on the bench.

Nicolas Raskin and Connor Barron anchor the midfield, while Djeidi Gassama, Thelo Aasgaard and Mikey Moore play in support of striker Youssef Chermiti.
