Celtic are on the verge of a deal with Paderborn for midfielder Mika Baur, STV Sport understands.
The 22-year-old is set for a medical with the Parkhead side after a breakthrough in negotiations, following weeks of talks with the Bundesliga club.
STV Sport understands the deal is a multi-million-pound move, with the German keen to join the Scottish champions.
Reports in Germany say Baur had been absent from Paderborn training, with Celtic keen to get the player in before the Champions League qualifier against LASK next Wednesday.
It comes as Real Oviedo winger Haissem Hassan is closing in on a move to Celtic with a deal agreed and a medical completed.
Both players could feature in the Champions League next week.
Celtic have so far secured the club record signing of Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh, who scored a hat-trick at the weekend against Kilmarnock.
They also added Camilo Duran to the squad in a move from Azerbaijani side Qarabag last month.
