Celtic have been fined and given a suspended ban from selling away tickets for one European match after their supporters let off fireworks at this month’s Champions League tie at Borussia Dortmund.
The Scottish club suffered a painful 7-1 loss in Germany, but could face further punishment for the behaviour of their fans.
UEFA’s control, ethics and disciplinary body (CEDB) confirmed on Wednesday that Celtic had been fined 20,000 euros (£16,718) along with a suspended ban for the incident on October 1.
“The CEDB has decided to fine Celtic 20,000 euros and to ban Celtic from selling tickets to its away supporters for a total of one UEFA club competition match, for lighting of fireworks,” a UEFA statement read.
“Said ban from selling tickets to its away supporters is suspended for a probationary period of two years, starting from the date of the present decision.”
