Celtic took maximum points from a hard-fought contest at Pittodrie to continue their winning start to the season.
Liel Abada put the visitors ahead against Aberdeen before the hosts equalised through Bojan Miovski. Kyogo Furuhashi and Matt O’Riley scored for Brendan Rodgers’ side to seal a 3-1 win.
Celtic took the lead after 11 minutes when a free-kick from O’Riley was headed towards goal by Daizen Maeda and Abada pounced to put the ball in the back of the net. A VAR review checked for possible offside but the Celtic winger was played on by Dante Polvara and the visitors went in front.
Aberdeen weren’t sitting back against the champions and both Graeme Shinnie and Ryan Duncan saw their efforts go over the bar before the Dons found an equaliser.
A ball over the top from Duncan was misjudged by Cameron Carter-Vickers and Duk Lopes got in front of the Celtic defender, sliding the ball across goal for Miovski to knock in the simplest of finishes.
Having worked hard to get back on level terms, a defensive lapse saw Aberdeen fall behind again.Nicky Devlin headed back towards his own goal, only for Kyogo to race on to the ball and finish superbly past Kelle Roos.
Despite being ahead, Celtic made two changes at half time, bringing on Reo Hatate for David Turnbull and Steven Welsh for Carter-Vickers.
Both sides had chances after the break, with Leighton Clarkson having a good chance to even the score, and Maeda forcing Devlin into a late clearance but Celtic had the final say.
Substitute Yang Hyun-jun set up Matt O’Riley in the box and the midfielder made no mistake to deliver his second goal in two games and ensure maximum points for his side.
