Celtic are close to agreeing a deal for Torino midfielder Gvidas Gineitis, with the Scottish Champions eyeing a possible six new arrivals before the deadline.
The Lithuanian international has been a top priority signing for Martin O’Neill this summer, and it’s understood there’s been a breakthrough in negotiations over the last 24 hours.
Gineitis is keen to move to Glasgow with personal terms to seen to be an issue.
The move comes amidst a flurry of late activity for the Scottish Champions.
Dutch midfielder Joel van den Berg and Parma midfielder Oliver Sørensen are set to be announced with English goalkeeper Sam Johnstone close to joining from Wolves.
Chelsea striker Shim Mheuka is undergoing a medical ahead of a season-long loan, with the club still actively pushing for a left-back as cover for Kieran Tierney.
In terms of outgoings Reo Hatate, is expected to leave before the deadline with many English championship clubs pursuing Irish striker Jonny Kenny.
