Celtic captain Callum McGregor admitted his side was “disappointed on the bus” after throwing away the lead twice to draw 3-3 with Rangers at Ibrox.
The away side stunned Ibrox with a Daizen Maeda goal in the first minute, and went 2-0 up by half-time after Matt O’Riley scored a penalty.
However, a James Tavernier spot-kick in the 55th minute narrowed the deficit and Abdallah Sima levelled for Rangers in the 86th minute – before Adam Idah looked to have won it for Celtic a minute later.
In a final twist to the tale, Rabbi Matondo curled in a stunning late equaliser to earn his side a point.
McGregor, who came on as a second half sub and was involved in Abdallah Sima’s equaliser, admitted there was “disappointment” following the final whistle.
He said: “The disappointment will be that we’ve drawn the game after being so positive and being so good in the game.
“So, you know, there’s probably a little bit of disappointment on the bus.”
Following Sunday’s dramatic draw, Celtic remain at the top of the Premiership, but are only a single point ahead of their city-rivals who travel to Dundee on Wednesday with a game in hand.
McGregor says Celtic will “dust themselves down” and is looking forward to the premiership run in.
He added: “But, you know, we’ll dust ourself down and like I say, we will look forward to the run-in now as well.
“Obviously, it’s a big game, especially when you come here. You want to try and be involved and try and help the group as much as you can. And yes, as soon as we got the verdict then we tried to put all of our eggs in the basket for this game, and never quite made it from the start.
“But, you know, I wanted to be here and, you know, if I had missed the game, then I’d have been devastated.
“But the positive is the boys were so good and played with big personality and quality. And like I say, we’ve come out here in a positive place as well.”
