Rangers forward Cedric Itten has moved to Greuther Furth on loan for the remainder of the season.

Itten can be recalled to Ibrox in January if needed, but the Bundesliga side say they hold an option to make the deal permanent next summer.

The Swiss forward signed for Steven Gerrard’s side in 2020 on a four-year deal but found it difficult to establish a regular place in the team with Alfredo Morelos, Jermain Defoe and Kemar Roofe in front of him in the pecking order during his time at Ibrox.

Itten , who has four international caps, scored only four times in the league last season, with the majority of his appearances coming from the bench.

His new side, nicknamed The Shamrock, are currently third from bottom in the Bundesliga table.
