Cameron Norrie has been forced to pull out of the Japan Open after testing positive for Covid-19.
The British number one was due to play Jenson Brooksby in the quarter-finals of the Korea Open but withdrew from the tournament immediately after the positive test.
Now the Scot, who is without symptoms, has revealed that he won’t compete in Tokyo next week.
“Unfortunately, I had a positive Covid test in Korea and wasn’t able to compete in the rest of my matches,” Norrie wrote in a Twitter post.
“I have no symptoms and I am feeling 100% fine.
“I was really hoping to go to Tokyo but because of the quarantine period I will not be able to play there.”
The withdrawal is a blow to Norrie’s hopes of qualifying for the ATP Finals in Italy in November.
The finals pit the top eight players in the Race To Turin rankings against each other and Norrie is currently in 11th place, 335 points behind Alexander Zverev.
