Callum Jones told Dundee fans they will see the “nasty” side to his game as well as other attributes after joining Steven Pressley’s side from Hull.
The 24-year-old midfielder moves north on a two-year deal, subject to international clearance.
Jones, who was born in England but who has represented Wales at under-20’s level, told Dundee’s official website: “It’s a big opportunity for myself and my family.
“When it came about I wanted to get it done as quickly as possible, I spoke to (technical director) Gordon Strachan and the manager.
“My agent and my family all thought it was the right decision and I’m buzzing to be here.
“I think the project is good, the new manager has a style of play that I like and I think he thinks I’ll suit it and I think I’ll definitely suit it.
“I know (defender) Ryan Astley, so I spoke with him before I signed. He told me how much he enjoys it here and he told me more about the club and the facilities.
“I think my mind was made up at that time but he cemented my thoughts.
“I would like to say that I’m a box-to-box midfielder with good technical ability. I definitely want to bring goals and assists and to try and help the team win as many games as possible.
“But I also think I’ve got that nasty side, a little bit of bite and I don’t mind rolling my sleeves up and putting myself about.”
