Brisbane has been confirmed as the host city for the 2032 Olympic Games.
The Australian city was the only candidate but the decision still had to be ratified with a vote at the 138th International Olympic Committee Session on Wednesday.
The Olympics will head to Australia for a third time, with Melbourne hosting in 1956 and Sydney in 2000.
Meanwhile, only 30 Team GB athletes are expected to march in the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics on Friday.
It comes amidst fears over coronavirus cases in the Japanese capital, with the number of athletes willing to leave the relative security of the Olympic Village continuing to dwindle.
Upwards of 200 British athletes are currently resident in the Village, with a number understood to have made the decision to not to attend the ceremony due to Covid concerns.
