Steve Clarke has named his starting side to face Belarus in their World Cup qualifier in Hungary, with four changes from the side that drew in Copenhagen.

Ben Gannon Doak, Billy Gilmour, Scott McKenna and Max Johnston come into the side with Lyndon Dykes, Ryan Christie, Aaron Hickey and Grant Hanley drop to the bench.

Scotland opened their campaign with a creditable 0-0 draw away to group favourites Denmark on Friday night but picking up maximum points against bottom seeds is likely to be a must if the national team are to reach the finals next year.

UEFA has ruled that Belarus are to play all of their matches away from home and without supporters in attendance, due to the nation’s stance on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

That will make for a peculiar atmosphere at the ZTE Arena in Zalaegerszeg but Clarke and his players are focused on building on their positive start and securing a four-point return from the opening double-header.

The head coach has made four changes to the team that earned a point in Copenhagen, with an attacking line-up that includes Ben Gannon Doak coming in for Lyndon Dykes.

Angus Gunn starts in goal, and there’s a back four of captain Andy Robertson, Scott McKenna, John Souttar and Max Johnston.

Lewis Ferguson and Billy Gilmour anchor the midfield, with Scott McTominay and John McGinn playing in support of Doak and Che Adams.
