Motherwell will be without new signing Apostolos Stamatelopoulos until late September after the club revealed he faces a six-week injury lay-off.
Stamatelopolous only arrived at Fir Park at the end of July and the Australia international was injured against Rangers on Saturday in what was only his first start for the club.
Motherwell have now confirmed that he suffered a quad muscle injury and estimate he will miss at least five games.
The news comes as a further blow to manager Stuart Kettlewell, who has had to deal with a series of injuries to first team players.
John Koutrombis has a calf strain that will sideline him until mid-September, while the return dates of others are less clear.
Filip Stuparevic is running again as he works back from a hamstring injury but hasn’t yet returned to full contact training. Ross Callahan also has a hamstring problem and is set to see a consultant this week.
Sam Nicholson, Callum Slattery, Shane Blaney and Harry Paton are also currently out injured.
