Albion Rovers have scrapped a plan to allow a Hibernian fan to manage the team for their game against Hearts B.
The Coatbridge side take on the Colts side in the Lowland League on Saturday.
Manager Sandy Clark was due to step aside for one game to make way for Duncan McKay to take charge as part of a segment on TV programme View From the Terrace.
McKay has tried out different jobs across Scottish football including being a mascot, ballboy, tannoy announcer, kit man, and groundskeeper for the BBC Scotland show.
But Rovers have now cancelled the idea.
In a statement released on Saturday morning they said: “Albion Rovers can confirm that Duncan McKay has been relieved of his duties from the club’s management team for this afternoon’s Park’s Motor Group Lowland League match against Hearts B.”
McKay was due to have full control of picking Saturday’s team, discussing tactics and taking the half time team talk.
He presented his CV of leading Accrington Stanley to a European Cup win in Football Manager as proof of his managerial skills ahead of the game at Cliftonhill.
