Former Scotland international Scott Booth has been appointed as the new head coach of Aberdeen Women.
The 52-year-old previously managed the SWPL side of Glasgow City, where he won four league titles and a Scottish Cup, as well as Birmingham City Women in England.
As a player, he made 239 appearances for Aberdeen during two spells at the club, first between 1989 and 1997 and then for a season in 2003.
He also played for Borussia Dortmund in Germany and spent six years in the Netherlands with Utrecht, Vitesse and FC Twente.
During his career, he won 22 caps for Scotland and scored six, including two vital goals on the road to the European Championships in 1996.
He struck in a 1-1 draw against Russia and scored the winner in a 1-0 victory over Finland as the national team reached the competition in England.
The Dons, who currently sit 9th in the SWPL after two wins, two draws and six defeats, confirmed the appointment on Thursday.
Booth said: “I am delighted to be returning to my old club and taking on this exciting opportunity.
“Having spoken to the director of football and the wider Board, I share their vision for the future of the women’s programme, and I am looking forward to playing my part in this project going forward.
“I know there is a talented young group of players here and I am looking forward to working with them and the fantastic staff to build upon the great work carried out in recent seasons as we look to challenge ourselves to deliver success.”
