Peter Leven revealed Aberdeen could have “one or two” new faces available for Sunday’s Scottish Cup tie at home to Raith Rovers.

The Dons have been linked with a move for out-of-favour Rangers midfielder Lyall Cameron, while it was announced on Thursday that winger Vicente Besuijen had left to join Dutch side Emmen on loan until the end of the season.

Asked at his pre-match media briefing on Thursday if any arrivals were imminent, interim boss Leven said: “Yes, Lutz (Pfannenstiel, sporting director) and the recruitment team are working on that. They’re busy on that side of it and they’re just keeping me updated.

“We’re trying to get maybe one or two in for the weekend, potentially. There’ll be some going out, and there are ones that we’re trying to bring in as well.”

Aberdeen have failed to win any of their last seven matches, losing six of them, and Leven hopes the fact they are defending the Scottish Cup will help galvanise them when they host Championship side Raith.

“We want to win every game but as cup holders, we want to do well,” he said. “We want to get to the final again, we want to win the trophy again and that’s what I said to the players this morning.”
