Nathan Oduwa has returned to Tottenham Hotspur after his season-long loan deal at Rangers was cut short.

The attacking midfielder took to Twitter to confirm that he had gone back to White Hart Lane, thanking the fans for their support.

"My time at Rangers has come to an end," he wrote, "but I'd [sic} like to thank everyone associated with Rangers for making me feel at home both on and off the field.

"I want to [sic] wish the players good luck for the rest of the season and hope they get Rangers back to the Scottish Premiership."

Oduwa had fallen out of favour in recent weeks, missing out on the Rangers match-day squad for each of the club's last two fixtures.

The 19-year-old made 19 appearances for the Ibrox club this season, scoring once in the process.

Rangers have already made changes to their squad in this January transfer window, with goalkeeper Maciej Gostomski and Harry Forrester joining on six-month deals.

The Ibrox side have also made bids for St Johnstone forward Michael O'Halloran, with Gedion Zelalem's loan deal from Arsenal also extended until the end of the campaign.
