December's Scottish Premiership Player of the Month Liam Boyce has targeted Ross County's League Cup semi-final against Celtic for his return from injury.

Northern Ireland striker Boyce picked up the prize after hitting five goals in five matches, including a hat-trick in the victory over Dundee.

The former Werder Bremen attacker has scored 17 goals for the Staggies this term but has missed his team's early games in 2016 after suffering a broken hand in training.

Now he wants to return in time to face the Scottish champions at Hampden on January 31.

Boyce has played a key part in County's run to the last four, scoring a hat-trick against Falkirk in a crushing 7-0 win as well as one strike against Ayr in the previous round.

And the 24-year-old hopes his form will earn his a place in Northern Ireland's squad for this summer's Euro 2016 finals in France.
