Falkirk manager Peter Houston would "understand" if Aberdeen wanted to recall on loan goalkeeper Danny Rodgers, adding that he wouldn't 'want to fall out with anybody."

The Dons find themselves without a number one after Liverpool's decision to end Danny Ward's loan spell at Pittodrie, with Derek McInnes now short for goalkeepers.

Rogers has impressed for the Bairns this season, picking up the December award for the Championship Player of the Month.

Houston accepts that Aberdeen might wish to recall the keeper from his loan at Falkirk, but still believes his side could keep hold of their shot-stopper.

"We've got an agreement with Aberdeen that we can keep him, and it has to be agreed by all three parties if he was to go back," said the Falkirk boss.

"I don't want to fall out with anybody and I will speak to Derek [McInnes].

"So far I haven't heard from Aberdeen, Derek and I speak regularly about Danny - and I'll speak to Derek later on in the day.

"Aberdeen have been good enough to give us him, we'd be very disappointed if he did go back but we would understand.

"We could say no, but that could cause problems and that's not something I think I would do because I have a good relationship with Derek McInnes and Aberdeen."

"I'm convinced that Derek feels it's better for Danny's career that he is out here playing first-team football rather than sitting on a bench again.

"I'm convinced that Derek will actively be trying to get another goalkeeper in, if I'm honest because he'll want Danny to stay here."

The player himself also recognises the possibility of Aberdeen calling for his return, but is happy to stay in the Championship for the time being.

"I'm sure there is a danger of me being called back but I'm still waiting," he said.

"I just want to play games, whether that's here or at Aberdeen we'll have to wait and see.

"If I was guaranteed a place at Aberdeen, it's a massive club, then that would be a great experience for me, but if not I'm happy to stay here for the rest of the season."
