Aberdeen have been dealt a blow with the news goalkeeper Danny Ward will return to Liverpool midway through his loan spell.

The 22-year old has become a fans favourite in the opening months of the season at Pittodrie but Jurgen Klopp has opted to bring him home early.

The Anthony Stokes loan deal saga continues with Hibernian becoming the front runners to sign the striker.

John Hughes had expressed his interest at the weekend to take him to Inverness Caley Thistle but the Celtic striker could end up back at Easter Road afterall, where he played during the 2009-10 season.

Rangers, meanwhile, have been linked with St Johnstone striker Michael O'Halloran again. The Ibrox club were reportedly interested earlier in the season after the Scot scored against them in the League Cup.

17-year-old Brentford striker Matt Stevens is also speculated to be on the radar of the Ibrox club, with Mark Warburton keen to raid his former club.
