Elgin extended their lead at the top of the Ladbrokes League Two table after they came from behind to record a 3-2 victory at Arbroath.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Connor McLaren slotted past Arbroath goalkeeper Allan Fleming from the middle of the box, but they were not ahead for long.

Arbroath equalised three minutes later when Greg Rutherford fired in after Elgin shot-stopper Mark Hurst had fumbled Robert Linn's effort.

The home side took the lead two minutes after the break when Darren Ramsay's left-foot effort landed in the back of Hurst's net but Elgin drew level in the 53rd minute when Craig Gunn netted from the penalty spot after Richard Little was adjudged to have fouled Dylan Easton.

The league leaders secured all three points in the 77th minute when Easton rifled in to see Elgin open up a four-point gap at the top of the table.

Montrose staged a superb second-half comeback to come from two goals behind and beat East Stirlingshire 3-2 at Links Park.

The hosts, without a win in eight league games, looked to be heading for the bottom of the League Two table before three second-half goals saw off the Shire.

Kris Faulds gave the visitors the lead in the 21st minute, curling into the top corner from the right, before Thomas Orr scored his second in as many games since joining East Stirling earlier this month.

However after the break Graham Webster hit his ninth of the season before Greg Pascazio headed in from a free-kick to pull Montrose level.

Aaron Comrie completed the comeback with just over five minutes to go with a powerful strike into the roof of the net to seal the win.

Nathan Austin scored his 16th goal of the season in all competitions as East Fife recorded a 1-0 victory over Berwick.

East Fife could have taken the lead in the 18th minute when Jason Kerr's long-range effort was deflected on to a post.

And Berwick came close to opening the scoring on the brink of half-time when David Morris' low strike was deflected narrowly wide of the post.

But it was the hosts who broke the deadlock just two minutes after the break when Kyle Wilkie's cross was headed into the back of the net by Nathan Austin.

The visitors had chances to level things up in the second half, but they were unable to find a way past Liam Kelly in the East Fife goal.
