Anthony Stokes' recent troubles have been well documented but the Celtic striker is being linked with first team football under a former manager.

John Hughes, who oversaw Stokes' breakthrough at Falkirk, is reported to be ready to offer the forward a chance to shine in the Highlands, and reignite his Euro 2016 dream.

Today's Daily Mail also reports that Celtic's Efe Ambrose is a man in demand. Sven Goran Eriksson has money to spend at Chinese side Shanghai SIPG and is eyeing up the Nigerian defender.

Over at Ibrox, Mark Warburton has signed up Accrington Stanley's Josh Windass and Matt Crooks on pre-contract deals but has also extended the loan of Arsenal's Gedion Zelalem as he attempts to win promotion to the Premiership.

Miles Storey is also remaining in Scotland, having extended his loan deal from Swindon Town with Inverness to the end of the season.

And outside the SPFL, Manchester united have had another move for Southampton's Sadio Mane rebuffed, while Pep Guardiola would only want Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique, David Alaba and Paul Pogba to strengthen Manchester City next summer.
