Andy Halliday will be available to play in Rangers' fourth round Scottish Cup tie at home to Cowdenbeath on Sunday after his red card was downgraded to a yellow on appeal.

The Ibrox midfielder was dismissed in the 4-2 win over Hibernian at the end of December for appearing to aim a kick at Fraser Fyvie before barging into his arm with his shoulder.

Halliday appealed and an independent tribunal reduced the offence to a caution for adopting a threatening and/or aggressive attitude.

Hibs midfielder Fyvie has been suspended for two matches for feigning injury after he reacted by clutching his face.

Hibs chose not to contest the ban when the Scottish FA compliance officer said Fyvie's actions caused referee Bobby Madden to make the error.

The 22-year old missed Saturday's win over Raith Rovers and will also sit out this weekend's Scottish Cup clash against the same side.

Halliday has been a regular for Rangers this season and contributed to their 6-0 hammering of Dumbarton on Saturday with a goal.
