Construction work is nearly finished at the NHS Louisa Jordan, the temporary hospital for coronavirus patients being set up at Glasgow’s Scottish Events Campus (SEC).
Named after the great Scottish war nurse Louisa Jordan, the hospital will initially have 300 beds but has the capacity for up to 1000.
Workers have installed 23,000 square metres of flooring and created more than 1000 bed bays.
More than 8000 pieces of medical equipment have been ordered and 35,000 metres of network cabling installing to create the hospital’s nurse call system.
In a tweet posted on Thursday, NHS Louisa Jordan also said a bespoke system was in place to ensure oxygen supply to every bed.
The main contractors involved in the construction of NHS Louisa Jordan are Balfour Beatty Group, Kier Group, Robertson Group and Graham Construction.
Police Scotland said a temporary restriction of airspace came into force around the hospital from 1pm on Thursday afternoon.
The restriction applies to all aircraft, including drones, and extends to a radius of two nautical miles from the hospital and to a height of 2000 feet above mean sea level.
