As grey conditions continue across Scotland, photographers have gone above the clouds to find some sunshine.
Anticyclonic gloom has brought days of widespread fog and a dip in temperatures across the country.
It’s not uncommon for this time of year, but the dreich conditions have meant days of grey, dark skies.

The gloom happens during settled conditions, with the high pressure acting as a bubble that has trapped all moisture, low cloud and fog underneath it.
Some lucky Scots have managed to escape the gloom to find crystal clear sunny views, however, to be treated to this views, you have to be willing to hike up one of Scotland’s many mountains.
The bubble of gloomy conditions is low lying, and have created inversions that can be seen on higher levels.

Iain Cameron managed to capture the exciting phenomenon on Ben Cleuch in the Ochil Hills range at sunset on Monday.
STV weather presenter Philip Petrie said these conditions look set to continue throughout this week and into the weekend.

So if you’re looking for some sunshine, it’s time to break out the hiking boots.
While the gloom might not be favourable among Scots, the settled conditions are a welcome breath following Storm Amy which brought winds up 100mph and heavy rain.
