Warning as wind and rain to cause floods and travel chaos

Floods, power cuts and travel disruptions have all been predicted.

Floods, power cuts and travel chaos have all been predicted as Scots face a day of high winds and torrential rain.

Yellow weather warnings for wind and rain have been issued for much of the country with road and rail disruptions expected throughout the day.

The current active warning is in place until 6pm on Saturday and covers areas from Dumfries to parts of Inverness.

Edinburgh, Ayrshire, Stirling and Perthsire are also among the effected areas.

A host of SPFL football matches scheduled for Saturday have been postponed due to the conditions.

The rescheduled games include Dundee vs Ayr, Stirling Albion vs Cove Rangers and Stranraer vs Montrose.

And Edinburgh bus station has been closed due to fallen masonry caused by the heavy winds.

Stagecoach say all 101, 101A & 102 services will use St Andrews Square until further notice.

The Met Office say they expect the weather to cause difficult driving conditions and warned that bus and train services could face delays.

They also say that there is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded.

Some areas could also face power cuts for a short time.
