Travel operator Tui cancels all holidays up until mid-May

The company announced that they had made the decision due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Travel operator Tui have cancelled all holidays up to the middle of May.

The company announced on Wednesday that they had made the “difficult decision” due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tui said customers due to travel with the company can amend their holidays up until June 30 for free, even if they are due to travel between April 17 and May 14.

A Tui spokeswoman said: “We are constantly monitoring the situation and will start taking people on holiday again as soon as we are able to do so.

“At this point in time, nobody can accurately predict when that will be, so for the time being we will keep a close eye on our programme and continue to amend and adapt timings in line with the latest global travel advice.”

Meanwhile Jet2 announced on Tuesday that all flights and holiday packages will be cancelled until mid-June.

The company said it hoped to resume flights on June 17.
