Tesco stores in parts of Scotland are to close amid a “danger to life” warning brought by Storm Eowyn.
The supermarket giant is to close stores in some areas covered by the Met Office’s warning for Friday of winds with gusts of up to 100mph brought by Storm Eowyn.
Customers received messages and emails informing them stores were to close and home deliveries and click and collect services were also cancelled.

Tesco urged shoppers to check its website for information on opening times and apologised for the inconvenience.
The first-ever use in Scotland of the UK-wide emergency alert system saw phones belonging to those in the affected areas emit a loud siren and display urgent guidance from the government.
The Met Office issued the most severe possible warning for Friday, forecasting “flying debris resulting in danger to life”.
People have been urged to stay indoors and not travel under what has been described as “exceptional circumstances” by STV meteorologist Sean Batty.
Meanwhile Uber Eats has suspended deliveries across parts of the country.
Deliveries will be temporarily unavailable in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Kirkintilloch, Kirkcaldy, Dumbarton, Stirling, Ayr, Bathgate, East Kilbride, Kilmarnock, Greenock, Alloa, Ardeer, Coatbridge, Cumbernauld, Hamilton, Irvine, Dunfermline, Livingston.
An Uber spokesperson said: “The safety of everyone who uses our app is always a top priority.
“We will be constantly monitoring the advice from the Met Office and have several safety protocols in place.
“In severely affected areas we may decide to temporarily suspend the Uber Eats app to ensure the safety of couriers.”
