Sky has apologised to customers after its mobile network went down across the country on Tuesday.

The telecommunications giant said it was investigating “intermittent issues” with Sky Mobile customers’ service.

Those affected complained of being unable to make calls with more than 1000 reports of outages by just after midday on Tuesday.

Glasgow and Edinburgh were among the most reported locations across the UK, with half of all customer complaints saying they were having problems using the internet and mobile services.

An update from the company said: “We are aware that some Sky Mobile customers are experiencing intermittent issues with their service right now.

“We are investigating the issue and we are sorry for any inconvenience this may be causing.”
